Art journaling is a great way to make little experiments and explore a variety of media. In this class we will explore the repetition of simple shapes using a variety of media including paint, markers and different mark making tools, collage papers and a variety of adhesives. You will make your own collage papers with simple gelli plate printing techniques. You can explore composition, color combinations and different materials. I will provide junk mail, old book pages and painted paper (in addition to the papers you will create) that we will use to make repeated shapes exploring different ways to use paper in creating a composition. Then we will finish the pages with additional mark making and any finishing touches.
Let’s transform old library books into lovely art journals. This class is perfect for someone just getting into making art but will also be interesting to the experienced artist. Learn how to repurpose a hardcover book using acrylic paint, collage fodder, writing tools and stencils. An art journal is a great place to experiment with art supplies and different techniques. We will do an art journal page layout using a wide variety of media. All supplies are included.
