A whole day of self-defense learning and discussion, tailored for teens! We'll learn strikes, grab escapes, and ways to set boundaries that won't turn violent. We'll talk about intuition and how it works, how society slots us into little boxes, and where we're really in danger (versus when we only FEEL like we're in danger). There will be enough time to take a deep dive on students' questions too!
About Chimera:
Chimera Empowerment Self-Defense has been teaching empowering techniques for 50 years! Unlike most self-defense programs, we acknowledge that physical violence is not the only way to keep yourself safe. In addition to striking and kicking, we teach verbal and nonviolent physical skills, so you can navigate your safety the way you want—because YOU know yourself best.
Campers will need to bring a sack lunch. We’ll take a full one-hour break to reset and recharge, depending on the weather and the group, we may walk to the park, take a stroll on the trail, or simply relax and hang out inside the studio. It’s a nice balance of creative focus and fresh air.
